Icons v. abrasion ratings

The objective of clear and readily understandable consumer information should be to provide decision-making assistance to consumers in selecting the right product for the application in hand. To this end, corporate members of the Association of European Producers of Laminate Flooring (EPLF) use pictographs (icons) to symbolise a product's permissible frequency of use. There are icons covering a wide range of applications from domestic to commercial. This marks a move away from assessing the quality of products on the grounds of abrasion ratings alone.
