Laminate - capable of withstanding day-to-day use Flooring with first-class properties

26 August 2010

Laminate flooring isn’t just attractive, but fast to lay, easy to clean and simple to dispose of too. It offers impressively simple handling and great durability. Laminate flooring stands up to virtually all everyday spills and accidents: from cigarette ash to nail varnish. The sealed surface ensures that dust and dirt cannot penetrate into the flooring. This makes laminate flooring the perfect choice for allergy sufferers – provided that it is cleaned regularly.

Skilled DIYers can lay laminate flooring themselves in an extremely short time, as the panels simply click into one another lengthwise and crosswise. It is however recommended to read the manufacturer's fitting instructions to ensure that everything runs smoothly.

If the flooring is laid properly, it remains attractive for many years to come. Like any other type of flooring, laminate does need to be cleaned regularly. It is however sufficient to vacuum the floor once a week and occasionally wipe it clean. Use a rag that is wrung out well to ensure that no water enters the joints.

Laminate flooring has a long lifetime, but when you're finished with it, it can simply be disposed of with normal household waste. For larger quantities, it is best to take it to a waste disposal site, where the flooring is collected and incinerated with waste wood. After all, laminate flooring is mainly made of wood and is therefore one of the most environmentally friendly floor coverings. Laminate flooring also has a large number of positive properties and is capable of withstanding day-to-day use for a long time to come.
